Interaction
The interaction consists of 4 gestures. The gripping gesture (thumb and forefinger together) is equated with the click and hold with a mouse. Thus, through gripping and moving the hand you can scroll through lists. Also you can adjust, for example the volume of the music by activate the grasping gesture in combination with a rotation of the hand. By combining the second hand, you can use a pinch to get into the multi-taskview and jump through the different applications. The recipe and music search can also be operated by voice control.

Interface
The interface has been designed with the intention that the user immediately recognizes the gesture wich must be used. The individual steps of a sequence are listed next to each other and fade to the left and right. So the user is suggested to get forward or backward by swiping. Buttons dont have benefit in such an application, because they can not operate. So the problem of confirming or canceling is achieved by drawing a circle on the respective icon. Since it is the best way to set exact values with a gesture, spincontrols are used for this purpose.

Prototype
The system should work without any technical support on your hand. But since we were missing to the necessary equipment, we had to rely on a prototype. This prototype consists of a glove with a ultra infrared LED wich lights up when touching the thumb and index finger. The light is detected by a camera and the system therefore knows whether the grasping gesture is enabled and where your hand is situated in the room. In addition, an acceleration sensor is attached to the glove to track the position or rotation of the hand and allows reading out the operation of the rotary control. An Arduinoboard wich controlls everything is placed on the users arm.
